If you love working in oils, don't pick the work of a watercolorist you love unless it's for their color palette or something that could inspire your own work. I was desperate to find my own style, but didn't know where to start. I don't even need to look at your art to know the answer. If You Like Art

Terminology can be excluding. I was made to feel like whatever time I spent on my art was selfish, unproductive, and spiteful. The subject of my art is paint—the way that colour washes, spreads, bleeds and runs across the canvas, and the way that paint-colour emits light. You can't do it alone.
