We stayed 2 nights at Halfmoon Bay Marina with one night in Hyde Park in between. The view is breathtaking and Steve was more than accommodating upon our arrival. We found Steve, the manager, to be very helpful and made he very effort to make certain we had a nice stay at this marina. But you (and your reviewers) overstate and underdeliver. Short walk to nice grocery store, CVS, restaurants. Very nice one-night stay.
There are more hiking and outdoors opportunities at the Teatown Lake Reservation and the Croton Dam park. Sadly, the Marina does not give transient boaters access to its swimming pool; that was disappointing, for sure. On both of the last two times I've visited, the manager and I conversed before hand to discuss which slip we'd tie up in and to ensure there was assistance available when docking. We gave him a heads up on channel 9 when we were getting close and then he met us at the slip and helped with our lines.
I would highly recommend this place to anyone that needs a place to dock. Steve's Asst Doug provided us with an amazing digital welcome package full of great restaurants to walk to. But facilities were lacking. The harbor master Steve is very helpful and a wealth of information for things to eat, see and do in the area. We look forward to coming back. Cabs, Ubers or Lyft are very easy to catch from here! The marina is located in a bay with a wave wall that limits wind and wave action from the river. HIGHLY recommend this marina to anyone (sail or power) looking for a great place to stay!
