The class is definitely not for everybody, but I appreciate the time and structure that was involved in this class, with the research and the movies. In this course, one learns how to make good decisions. Understanding of the topics is his main goal, and students who work hard on the assignments will undoubtedly do well in his class. If you really want to read some cons, I would say he is a bit laid-back. The textbook is sometimes hard to understand. I appreciated his straight forward approach to sexuality and anatomy. For the first time in my life, Dr. Arsham has enabled me to grasp the elusive meaning and mechanics of statistical analysis. Dr. Vasey is a very knowledgeable professor with much experience in his field. I have been waiting years to take this class, and did not regret it a bit. Dr. Vasey was incredible. You should be proud of your work and teaching. I would get a bit narcoleptic whenever I was in his lecture. Applied Business Economics and Forecasting ECON650 course has been an incredible course, with its implications reaching far out into the realm of business decisions as well as day-to-day life decisions. Listening to the lectures helped me view decision-making and life in general differently. The textbook was more helpful and complementary for the second half of the course (the probabilistic models) as the material seemed more straightforward but this is probably debatable. The text, lectures, and assignments all contributed to my learning. Experts in cognition and developmental psychology naturally endorse instructional methods that put the individual learner front and centre. The fact that I had only managed to finish writing up about three-quarters of the lecture required me to build "thinking time" into it. I had a pleasent surprise the first couple weeks of class. One must learn and understand the materials in order to successfully complete the assignments so honest effort must be put in consistently during every week. Either way, if it is time to rethink the lecture – and maybe it is – it is not because lectures are inherently boring. He is approachable, treats his students with respect, and teaches the most relevant and up to date material. You always tried to give the credit to the students and lift up the spirits and morale of the students. Paul presents his information in linear, predictable, and clear ways. Really enjoyed it, and made the 3 hours go by very quickly. What's great is that Professor Arsham generously communicates this information and invites you to be a part of this interesting and practical way of viewing decisions. Given the length of the class, topic and size he did an exceptional job. Vasey is a brilliant professor and his work in the field adds so much to his credibility. Vasey was a great instructor and easy to listen to. Another thing - don't underestimate the difficulty of the lab practicals, if you do so, you will be in for another shock.
Great professor and deserves a raise or something. I thank him for such an interesting class. I would recommend and have recommended this course to everyone. This community is a place to share and discuss new scientific research. He's a nice guy and everything and he means well, it's just the lectures always seem so long.
